    Lisa Christensen Biography Dr. Lisa Christensen fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a veterinarian in 2000 after earning a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine jointly from Washington State University and Oregon State University. Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate degree in Zoology at Oregon State University. She has been a practicing veterinarian at Pacific Avenue Veterinary Hospital from 2000 to the present. Dr. Christensen has specific interests in Geriatric Medicine, Preventative Medicine, Dermatology, Dentistry and Behavior. She was nominated to attend the 2009 North American Veterinary Institute where she attended a Dermatology and Ear therapy intensive educational course. She has also attended numerous continuing education courses and laboratories in Dentistry and Periodontal Therapy. Dr. Christensen has been training her dogs in canine citizenship, competition obedience, and agility for 8 years. She loves working with difficult or rescued pets and their families. This year she will offer a puppy socialization course at the hospital for new puppy owners. Dr. Christensen enjoys the company of her dogs Ronan and Carmen, 3 lovely kitties, and 2 horses. While Dr. Christensen considers veterinary medicine to be one of the most diverse and rewarding careers on the planet, she has many other interests when she is not practicing. She loves hiking, caring for her horses, training her two awesome dogs, painting, and gardening.

    Dr. Carolyn Saylor is a Washington native. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1989 with a BS in microbiology and molecular genetics. After working for 1 year at the University of Washington Medical School doing molecular genetic research, she attended the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine where she completed her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She completed additional training in exotic animal medicine, small animal ultrasound, endoscopy and laparoscopy, small animal dentistry and small animal oncology. Dr. Saylor has a special interest in Nordic dog breeds and sled dog medicine. She is a member of the Iditarod Sled Dog Veterinary staff, a member of the International Sled Dog Veterinary Medical Association and mushes with a team of 8 Alaskan Malamutes.

    Dr. Truckenbrod is originally from the Midwest and went to veterinary school at Cornell University in Upstate New York. Her interests in the veterinary field include preventative health care, behavior and internal medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Truckenbrod enjoys outdoor activities, such as running, hiking, and skiing, as well as travel, reading and cooking.
